Britain’s modern Royal Houses have navigated profound social, economic and global changes, from the Glorious Revolution in 1688 to the First World War. The House of Stuart, House of Hanover, House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and House of Windsor represent a fascinating narrative of an evolving British monarchy.

Presented in premium packaging, this four-coin set will enhance any collection dedicated to British royalty and history. Each struck in silver, the set includes a Queen Anne shilling, a Queen Victoria Old Head shilling, an Edward VII florin and a George V florin.

Queen Anne Shilling

Minted between 1702 and 1714, this silver coin bears the portrait of the last British monarch from the House of Stuart. Queen Anne’s reign featured the 1707 Acts of Union, which formally united England and Scotland into a single kingdom, and extensive maritime engagement during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–14).

Queen Victoria Old Head Shilling

Struck between 1893 and 1901, this piece belongs to the final Hanoverian British monarch, as Queen Victoria’s reign was the last for a dynasty that
had reigned in the United Kingdom since 1714. The monarch’s later portrait was struck at the end of an era of rapid industrial growth and evolving social norms across the nation.

Edward VII Florin

First issued in 1902, the Edward VII florin emerged during an era of social reforms and lingering imperial ambitions. Edward VII’s coinage mirrored a nation that was both embracing technological advancements and holding fast to an imperial identity. The reverse of this Edward VII florin features Britannia alongside national shields.

George V Florin

Introduced during a time of profound global challenges that included the First World War, the George V florin continued to be issued following the decision to rename the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to the House of Windsor in 1917. The editions of the florin struck during George V’s reign feature heraldic motifs that depict the four quarters of the Shield of the Royal Arms
